How will AP, IB, CLEP and transfer credits affect my choice of courses?
Don’t select courses in which you have or expect Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), College Level Examination Program (CLEP) or transfer credit. When you signed up for a Freshman Registration & Family Orientation Day, you completed some information about AP, IB, CLEP and transfer credits. Your advisor will be provided with this information when you arrive for your registration meeting in the afternoon. If your advisor is suggesting you register for something you already believe you have credit for or will have credit for, be sure to point this out. If the AP course is in your major (such as Biology or Math) and if not having that course taken in your first semester will delay your program, then yes, list the course on your Request for Classes. If you learn that you passed the AP exam and will get credit for that course, then drop the course and add another using the WINGS on line registration process. You will receive an AP, CLEP, IB equivalency table when you arrive for Freshman Registration & Family Orientation.
