UW-L Defeats Wartburg, Falls to Wheaton and Luther

La Crosse, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse men’s tennis team went 1-2 last week and are now 10-5 on the season.

The Eagles dropped a pair of matches in Decorah, Iowa Saturday, April 5, falling 6-3 to Wheaton College (Ill.) and 5-3 to Luther College (Iowa).

UW-L came back Sunday, April 6 and defeated Wartburg College (Iowa) 9-0 in Winona, Minnesota.

In singles play, Nathan Fekete went 3-0 at No. 4 for UW-L while Mike Mooren went 2-1 at No. 1 and Joey Van Lieshout 2-1 at No. 2.
Dale Wroblewski went 1-2 at No. 3 singles while Paul Vickers was 1-1 at No. 5. Doug Marmar finished 1-1 at No. 6 and 0-1 at No. 5.

In doubles, Mooren/Fekete won their only match at No. 2. Mike Frenzel/Taylor Schliewe went 2-1 overall, going 1-0 at No. 2 and 1-1 at No. 3.

Van Lieshout/Wroblewski were 1-2 at No. 1 doubles.

UW-L returns to action Friday, April 11 versus UW-Eau Claire in Oshkosh at 3:30 p.m.
