UW-L Competes at Badger Open; Four Individuals Win Events

Madison, Wis. – The UW-La Crosse men’s track & field team competed at the Badger Open Saturday afternoon at the University of Wisconsin. No team scores were kept.

Four individuals came away with titles Saturday for the Eagles. Matt Gordy captured the 55-meter dash (6.88) while Alex Rooker took the 200-meter dash (22.27) and Ryan Mendez the 400-meter dash (50.30). UW-L’s Bobby Riley won the shot put (55-2).

Other top finishes on the track included: David Kolbe placing second (22.54), John Doble fourth (22.69) and Gordy fifth (22.75) in the 200-meter dash. Cole Lambert was second in the 400-meter dash (50.46) while Eric Hill placed third in the mile run (4:33.79).

Jamar Jackson was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.44) and Rooker placed fifth in the 55-meter dash (7.16).

In field events, Bill Warren was fourth in the shot put (49-1 ¾) while Anthony Hasse placed fourth in the triple jump (43-8 ½). Aaron Johnson was fifth in the weight throw (49-9 ¼).

Dave Stauder and Clark Lundquist tied for fifth on the high jump (6-3 ½) for the Eagles.
