Kleinmaus Named to Academic All-District Second Team

La Crosse, Wis. – University of Wisconsin-La Crosse senior Adam Kleinmaus of New Berlin (Waukesha Catholic Memorial) has been named to the 2008 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V College Division Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Second Team.

The all-district team is comprised of all NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA student-athletes from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota and is voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

An accounting major at UW-L with a 3.93 grade point average, Kleinmaus earned two All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) honors at the 2008 league indoor championships. He was on the Eagles' winning distance medley relay to be named All-WIAC First Team while also being a member of UW-L's second-place 4x400-meter relay, earning all-conference second team recognition.

Kleinmaus was selected the WIAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week February 10 as a member of UW-L's distance medley relay. He joined senior Kevin Oelstrom of Hales Corners (Whitnall), senior Andrew Boldt of Stillwater, Minn. (H.S.) and senior Paul Zdroik of Stevens Point (H.S.) as the relay won at the Wartburg College (Iowa) Select Meet with a school record time of 9:57.02.

During the outdoor season this year, Kleinmaus was second in the 800-meter run at the Esten Challenge and fourth in the 800 at the Loras Open (Iowa). He placed eighth in the 800-meter run at the 2008 WIAC Outdoor Championships.
