UW-L Competes at St. Mary's and Minnesota State

Winona/Mankato, Minn. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men’s track & field team competed at the St. Mary’s (Minn.) Invitational and Minnesota State Open Saturday. No team scores were kept at either meet.
At St. Mary’s, Paul Zdroik and Bobby Riley captured individual titles for the Eagles. Zdroik took the 3,000-meter run (8:24.99) while Riley won the shot put (51-4 1/4).
In the 3,000-meter run, Dan Thour was second (8:33.95) for UW-L while Kevin Oelstrom placed third (8:34.69). Bill Warren was second (46-5 ¼) and Aaron Johnson third (45-8) in the shot put. Johnson was also third in the weight throw (50-1 ¾).

At the Minnesota State Open, Jamar Jackson, Dave Stauder and Jessie Dengsavang all won individual events for UW-L. Jackson won the 60-meter hurdles (8.34) while Stauder captured the high jump (6-8 ¾) and Dengsavang the triple jump (45-7 ¼).
The Eagles also won the 4x400-meter relay (3:20.11).
Andrew Boldt was second in the 800-meter run (1:56.43) for UW-L.
Third-place finishers on the track included: Matt Gordy in the 60-meter dash (6.97), David Kolbe in the 400-meter dash (49.68) and Ryan Mendez in the 500-meter dash (1:07.34).
Jonathon Doble placed fourth in the 400-meter dash (50.16) while Christophe Johnson was fourth in the triple jump (43-6).
