UW-L Defeats UW-Oshkosh in Home Finale

La Crosse, Wis.– The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team improved to 9-5-1 overall and 4-3 in the WIAC with a 2-1 victory over UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon at Veterans Field. With the win, the Eagles clinch their 10th winning season under 14-year head coach Sara Burton. UW-Oshkosh falls to 7-8-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the WIAC after losing to UW-L for just the second time in the last eight matches between the teams.

UW-L began the scoring at 25:06 with a goal by Ramsey Weyenberg assisted by Amy Cory. After halftime, UW-Oshkosh tied the score at 1-1 on an unassisted goal by the Titans' Lindsay Hanson at 65:47. The Eagles answered back less than a minute later as Weyenberg scored her second goal of the match on an Erin Wilson assist. The goals were Weyenberg's sixth and seventh on the season.

Amanda Clark finished with three saves for UW-L while UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Laura Neve stopped five shots.

UW-L wraps up its regular season Saturday, October 27 at UW-Superior at 2:30 p.m.
