Soccer Team Falls to UW-Stevens Point

La Crosse, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse soccer team dropped its first home match of the season Wednesday afternoon with a 1-0 loss to UW-Stevens Point at Veterans' Field. The Eagles fall to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the WIAC while the Pointers improve to 4-2-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
Jackie Spees scored her second goal of the season at 51:19 with assists from Amanda Prawat and Alison Regal for the only goal of the match.
UW-Stevens Point outshot UW-L, 33-12, including a 13-6 advantage in shots on goal. Prawat finished with eight shots for the Pointers while Kaylee Weise had seven. Both players finished with four shots on goal. Amy Cory had eight shots for the Eagles, including all six of UW-L's shots on goal.
UW-L's Amanda Clark recorded 12 saves while Meredith DeCaluwe finished with six for UW-Stevens Point to notch the shutout.
UW-L returns to action Saturday, September 22 at UW-Eau Claire at noon.
