Pfeifer Named to NFCA All-Region Second Team

La Crosse, Wis. University of Wisconsin-La Crosse junior second baseman Sarah Pfeifer of Watertown (H.S.) has been selected to the 2007 Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-Great Lakes Region Second Team.
She was named to the 2007 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC)
First Team earlier this month, her first career all-conference selection.
Pfeifer hit .372 and started all 38 games for the Eagles this season. She lead
UW-L in home runs (6), RBI (28) and total bases (69) this year while finishing
second on the team in batting average, runs (23), hits (42) and doubles (7).
Her six home runs is tied for second in single-season school history while the
28 RBI ranks third. Pfeifer also tied for second on the team in walks (10) this
season and fourth in at-bats (113).
She led the Eagles with seven multi-RBI games and ranked second with 11 multi-hit
contests. Pfeifer also had a team-high 11-game hitting streak during the season.
She had at least one hit in 29 of 38 games. Pfeifer finished 3-for-4 with two
runs scored and an RBI vs. McDaniel College March 12 and 3-for-3 with a run
scored and RBI against UW-Stevens Point April 18. Pfeifer also had a career-high
four RBI vs. Augustana College March 30.
UW-L finished 12-26 overall and 4-12 in the WIAC this season under second-year head coach Chris Helixon.
