Eagles Finish Third at UW-Whitewater Invite

Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse womens tennis team finished third at the eight-team UW-Whitewater Invitational Saturday afternoon at the Wangerin Tennis Courts.
UW-L finished with 20.0 team points while UW-Whitewater took the team title with 47.0 points. UW-Eau Claire was second with 29.0. UW-Stout placed fourth (17.0) followed by UW-Oshkosh (14.0); UW-Stevens Point (11.0); Augustana College, Ill. (9.0) and Beloit College, Wis. (9.0).
In singles play, Katie McDonald placed fourth in No. 1 singles for UW-L with a 1-2 record. Carlie Bohrman captured the consolation final in No. 2 singles with a mark of 2-1 and Kristen Holle was third overall in No. 3 singles with a 2-1 record.
Debbie Braun/Sarah Schoenwaelder finished fourth at No. 1 doubles with a 1-2 record. Brit Wagner/Kelly McDonell were third at No. 2 doubles with 2-1 record while Emily Karl/Stephanie Platto won the consolation final at No. 3 doubles with a 2-1 mark.
UW-L returns to action Saturday, September 15 at UW-Stevens Point beginning at 10 a.m. The Eagles will also play St. Norbert College (Wis.) at 2 p.m. in Stevens Point.
