UW-L Defeats Winona State in Home Meet

La Crosse, Wis. – The UW-La Crosse women’s track & field team defeated Winona State University ( Minn.) 79-57 in dual action Thursday night in Mitchell Hall.
Eight individuals captured titles Thursday for the Eagles. On the track, Allison Kolinski won the mile run (5:23.64), Sara Duchow the 55-meter dash (7.42), Caitlin Perra the 200-meter dash (26.13), Elicia Meyer the 400-meter dash (1:01.90) and Amy Luell the 800-meter run (2:21.51).
UW-L’s 4x200-meter relay of Caitlin Wippermann, Cassie Grosse, Claire Kaufman and Lauren Seidl also took first (1:46.21).
In the field events, Alecia Ellingstad took the pole vault (11-10 1/2) for UW-L. Christy Bohl was first in the shot put (43-9 ¾) for the Eagles while Maggie May won the triple jump (35-0 ¼).
In other top finishes on the track, the Eagles’ Rachel DeDeyn placed second (5:24.21) and Courtney Rucker third (5:25.48) in the mile run while Amy Kempen was second (2:24.22) and Brittni Osuldsen third (2:27.01) in the 800-meter run.
The Eagles’ Chris Clausen finished second in the 55-meter hurdles (8.58) while Stephanie Lasko was second (7.45) and Kailey Charlton third (7.47) in the 55-meter dash. Kelsey Katarow finished third in the 200-meter dash (27.050 and Samantha Morris was third in the 400-meter dash (1:03.97).
UW-L’s 4x400-meter relay placed second (4:16.17).
Other top finishers in the field events included Jamie Scott placing second in the pole vault (11-10 ½) and third in the triple jump (34-0 ¼). Tiffany Ness was third in the pole vault (11-0 ¾) for the Eagles.
In the high jump, the Eagles’ Lauren Terry was second (4-9 3/4) and Megan Nitka third (4-7 3/4) while Charlton finished second (15-4 1/4) and Leeanne Nowicki third (15-0 3/4) in the long jump.
Tina Schmidt was second (49-4 1/2) and Bohl third (49-2 1/4) in the weight throw.
