Favorite Part of Athletic Training: The
challenge of understanding and providing for the
differing needs of each patient daily. Every
athlete is unique in some way, and it is an
athletic trainer’s job to figure out how we can
best help the patient both physically and
psychologically. Also, helping athletes to
perform their best when it matters most is most
rewarding especially because I enjoy the
competitive setting.
Favorite Clinical: Wrestling & Men’s/Women’s
Track and Field
Wrestling was a sport that I have not had much
experience with as an athletic training student
or as a spectator. It was interesting to learn
about the sport which involves a wide variety of
injuries at each joint of the body. I grew to
like the sport and look forward to possibly
being a part of it in the future.
Track was most rewarding because I worked as the
head ATS on a team that won the conference
championship. I was also able to travel with
some of the girls that qualified for nationals
in Claremont, CA. The athletes were always very
enjoyable to work with, and I was able to work
on a wide variety of skills as a healthcare
professional.
Plans After Graduation: Pursue an NFL seasonal
internship or continue my education at a
division 1 university where I can work as a
graduate assistant athletic trainer preferably
with a football team.
