Welcome to the Department of Accountancy

Mission

The Department of Accountancy endorses the College of Business Administration mission and the mission of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The department’s mission is to develop accounting professionals. By emphasizing continuous engagement in scholarship and service to the profession, the Department of Accountancy members strive to create a learning and an advising environment that encourages capable students to reach their professional potential.

 

Critical features of our program include:

  • Faculty advising, in groups and individually, on both academic and career issues
  • Extensive opportunities for technical writing, presentations, teamwork activity, and software implementation
  • Serving real client needs through participation in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program
  • A well paid, full-time semester internship in public accounting
  • High placement rate of graduates

 

Department News

The Accounting minor requirements have been changed. Effective immediately, for all students, Accounting minor requirements:

13 cr. including ACC 321 and nine elective credits in accounting courses at the 300/400 level.
