Scholarships for Accouting Majors

Last year the Department of Accountancy distributed over $20,000 in scholarships to twenty-four deserving accounting majors. Additionally, the department awarded three scholarships each worth $4,400 to new freshmen accounting majors. These funds, over $33,000, came from donations to the Department of Accountancy from friends of the department and firms that recruit our accounting majors.

Information about Freshmen Accounting Scholarships: 
If you are considering coming to UW-La Crosse as an accounting major, you should apply for a $4,400 freshman scholarship BEFORE FEBRUARY 15th OF YOUR SENIOR YEAR.
  

     Students who apply for scholarships must:

Along with the application form, each student must submit a high school transcript and a one-page essay describing how your significant accomplishments, as described on the application, are preparing you for your career. The student should also have one letter of recommendation.

The scholarship would provide you with $1,100 per semester in your freshman and sophomore years.  These scholarships are made available each year by the Russell and Vera Smith Foundation.

Scholarships for Current Accounting Majors:
Information about scholarships for currently enrolled accounting majors will be announced in accounting classes early in the spring semester.  Click on Application Form - Accounting for an application form. Contact Dr. Ken Winter if you have any questions.  The deadline for application is March 15.

Information for Both Prospective and Current Majors:
Both entering freshmen and current students should contact the UW-La Crosse Foundation to learn about obtaining a scholarship from its scholarship fund. Also contact the UW-La Crosse Financial Aid office about grants.
