    Graduate Programs in Biology and Microbiology

    The UW-L Departments of Biology and Microbiology offer several formal concentrations for the Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Biology, including Aquatic Sciences, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Microbiology,  Clinical Microbiology  (in collaboration with Gundersen Lutheran Clinic of La Crosse, the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield Wisconsin, and the State Laboratory of Hygiene in Madison, Wisconsin),  Nurse Anesthesia  (in cooperation with Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, La Crosse), and Physiology.  You can also design your own plan of study  in cooperation with specific faculty members in our departments- we have faculty engaged in a wide variety of research. There is a great deal of flexibility built into the general MS Departments of Biology and Microbiology at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse have several programs leading to a Master of Science in Biology.

    These graduate programs are focused on three primary areas of study: (1) Biology, (2) Nurse Anesthesia and (3) Clinical Microbiology.

    Admission to the programs is based, in part, on individually prescribed undergraduate course work to meet prerequisite requirements for each area of focus.
