Trypanosoma brucei
T. brucei is the causative agent of Human Trypanosomiasis in sub-Saharan Africa. It along with several other species of trypanosomes are also the causative agent of nagana, animal trypanosomiasis, which is a major inhibitory factor in the growth and sustainability of farming in these regions.
