Words to Live By:
"Why do people fear death so? Because they realize, unconsciously at least, that their lives are mere parodies of what living should be." -Tom Robbins
Favorite ATP Memory:
There are so many...
- During the Rapunzel scene when the spotlight went on the tower, which was completely falling apart.
- Reciting Andrea Gibson's poem "Bullets and Windchimes" in front of an audience of about 400 people. It was an incredibly empowering feeling, getting over my fear of public speaking, and at the same time really feeling like I was touching the people I was speaking to.
- On the last day of rehearsal, it was about midnight and had been a really long day, and I was on stage with my friend Ryan. I was leaning on his wheelchair and he asked me not to lean on his chair and instead lean on his shoulder. It was a very humbling moment, realizing I still have so much to learn and understand.
When I think of Awareness through Performance, I think of...
People coming together to learn from one another as well as help to educate fellow students toward acceptance and understanding.
