After graduating from UW-La Crosse in 1988, Beth spent nearly a decade in the Japanese school system, including three years as an instructor at a nursing college. As a result of building her life within an Asian country for an extended period of time, she possesses a strong understanding of cultural differences and the need for building bridges of appreciation for these differences. After completing her M.S.E. at UW-La Crosse in 2002, she was hired by the School of Education at UW-La Crosse to assist with the assessment and accreditation efforts for teacher education programs. She began her position as the Campus Climate Coordinator at UW-La Crosse during the summer of 2005. She believes this position will allow her to promote and support efforts on campus that increase awareness, promote inclusion, foster dialogue, and respond to challenging or conflictual situations as related to the campus environment.
