Center for Advancing
The mission of CATL is to support the development of teaching and learning at UW-L. Toward this end, CATL provides university wide opportunities for instructors to develop their teaching and ability to affect student learning. These include conferences, workshops and projects that engage instructors in improving their own practice and building knowledge that can improve the practice of teaching more broadly. CATL also provides access to information and resources related to teaching and learning at UW-L and UW System.
CATL events and projects are funded by the Office of the Provost & Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and a 2006-2007 Scholarship of Teaching & Learning Grant from the UW System Office of Professional & Instructional Development (OPID).
In 2006-2007 the CATL Advisory Board includes Scott Cooper (SAH), Deb Hoskins (CLS), Betsy Knowles (CBA) and Jim Jorstad (Educational Technologies). Bill Cerbin (Provost Office) serves as the director.
