Organic Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry,
The goal of my research is to develop new chemical reactions that can be used as tools to study biological systems. Specifically, my research involves exploiting the chemoselective reactivity of azides and diazo compounds for novel ligation reactions, which allows us to probe and manipulate protein structure and labeling. The research will challenge students to develop a well-rounded perspective on chemical reactivity, protein structure and function, and biological processes, which will be valuable as they begin their scientific careers.
