Cindy's Lesson Plans
Theme: Storytelling/Acting

Songs, Books, and Stories

Special Activities

Stories can be real (non-fiction) or pretend (fiction).

King Bidgood’s in the Bathtub
The Three Bears

We will make our own bathtubs and draw what we would do in the bathtub – just like King Bidgood!

Stories have a beginning, a middle, and an end.

Flannelboard Story: “Three Billy Goats Gruff”

We will use pictures on paint sticks to put the story of “The Carrot” in order.  We will also put the parts of a carrot in order.

Stories have authors and illustrators.

Caps for Sale

We will balance on different types of lines, such as zig-zags, straight, etc., with caps on our heads!  We will also put monkeys together today.

Actors pretend on stage.  They use costumes to look different.

Dandelion the Lion

We will make our own “dandy lions” today.

Acting is fun.  We can all be actors.

Today we will perform “The Three Bears.”

Changes to the Environment

The dramatic play area will include a campfire for storytelling.  We will also have a stage for performing. For art play we will draw and write at the “author station.”  We will enjoy a spring sensory tub for sensory play.  For small motor play we’ll work with flannelgraphs for telling stories and for large motor play we’ll practice our balancing skills by walking on tape lines with caps on our heads.
