Emergency workers use some type of radio to talk to other emergency helpers.

We will make emergency radios and doctor kits for providing first aid.

You can buy ice cream at a store or from a person driving an ice cream truck or ice cream bike!

We will get a visit from “Dandy’s Ice Cream!”  Andy will ride a bike with a cart and we will buy ice cream from him!

An ambulance is a way of helping sick or injured people get to the hospital quickly.

An ambulance from Tri-State Ambulance will visit today at 10:00.

Fire fighters can be men or women.

We will make fire fighter hats and do some 911 paper telephone art.

The fire department has many different kinds of trucks.

Big Frank’s Fire Truck

At 9:30, we will have visit from the fire department.  They will bring a ladder truck.

The dramatic play area will feature a fire truck, an ambulance, and an emergency center.  For art play we will draw pictures of fire fighters and police officers at work.  For sensory play we will use our sense of hearing as we listen to directions for “Red Light, Green Light.”  We will add the small plastic emergency vehicles to our unit blocks for construction play.  For small motor play we will do some scooping in our own ice cream shop and for large motor play we’ll enjoy playing outside.
