Wednesday

We will use measuring cups and other kitchen tools to make cookie dough.

Thursday

A baker is someone who makes food.

We will use cookie cutters to make shapes with the cookie dough.  Then we’ll bake the cookies for snack.

Friday

We get food from a grocery store.

Today we will taste some cultural foods.

Changes to the Environment

The dramatic play area will feature a grocery store.  For art play paint using cookie cutters.  For sensory play we will manipulate playdough using cookie cutters, rolling pins, and other kitchen tools and we’ll build with food cans and boxes for construction play.  For small motor play we’ll place pictures of foods we like onto contact paper and for large motor play we’ll put food in shopping carts and push them.

Special Notes

We will take a buggy ride to Cartwright Center to look at the food area.
