Clinical Laboratory Science students may apply for the following scholarships:

Clinical Laboratory Science students may also be eligible for one of more of a large number of UW-L scholarships coordinated by the UW-L Foundation. They have an on-line system for searching and applying for scholarships. Check out this FAQ document if you have any questions.

The Wisconsin Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (WISCLS) provides a four- year scholarship, awarding $500 each year. For application information, contact:

Partners with St. Joseph Hospital (Marshfield, WI) - must be a student in the final year of the Clinical Laboratory Science program accepted into the St. Joseph/Marshfield Clinic Clinical Lab Science program. Applications will be distributed to students during the spring semester of the first year in the professional portion of the Clinical Laboratory Science program.

American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science -Wisconsin - must be a student in the final year of the Clinical Laboratory Science program. Award is $500. Applications will be distributed to students during the spring semester of the first year in the professional portion of the Clinical Laboratory Science program.

American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science - Minnesota - must be a student in the final year of the Clinical Laboratory Science program. Award varies from $500 to $1000. Applications will be distributed to students during the spring semester of the first year in the professional portion of the Clinical Laboratory Science program.

American Society for Clinical Pathology - must be a student in the final year of the Clinical Laboratory Science program. Students compete for a national award of $1000. Applications will be distributed to students during the spring semester of the first year in the professional portion of the Clinical Laboratory Science program.

Alpha Mu Tau Fraternity - must be a student in the final year of the Clinical Laboratory Science program. Students compete for national awards ranging from $1000 - $1500. Applications will be distributed to students during the spring semester of the first year in the professional portion of the Clinical Laboratory Science program.

Grace M Smith Clinical Laboratory Science Scholarship was established in recognition of Ms. Smith's direction of the Medical Technology program at UW-L from 1974 until her retirement in 1996. Pre-Clinical Laboratory Science majors or Clinical Laboratory Science majors may apply during their sophomore or junior year if they have a gpa of 3.25 or higher. The scholarship award is a minimum of $500 annually. Partners of Gundersen Lutheran Endowment for Allied Health Scholarships
Scholarship is to assist outstanding full time students having a genuine financial need, pursuing health career degrees applicable to hospital/clinic needs.
CRITERIA: Must be a full time student pursuing a health career degree applicable to hospital/clinic needs; have a genuine financial need, taking into consideration the resources available to the individual through family and spouse is preferred but condition of financial need should not prohibit a superior student from receiving this scholarship; have demonstrated motivation and academic superiority by maintaining a gpa of 3.0 or better.
MAJOR: health career degree applicable to hospital/clinic needs

YEAR IN SCHOOL: sophomore, junior, or senior

Wedro Scholarship
Established by Dr. Benjamin Wedro for students majoring in health, or health related field, or exercise & sport science at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
CRITERIA: Two awards given to recipients enrolled full time with a major in health, a health-related field or exercise & sport science; must be in good academic standing with a 3.3 GPA or above; shall be a junior or senior. The committee shall consider an applicant's record of community volunteer service and involvement as well as an applicant's demonstrated fitness and sport.
MAJOR: health, a health-related field, or exercise & sport science
GPA: 3.3 or above
FINANCIAL NEED: may be considered
YEAR IN SCHOOL: junior or senior
