PRSSA Skills Workshop

Students from our department have been invited to a PRSSA workshop in the Twin Cities in April. Please see the attached flyer (in pdf format) for further information!

Award Nominees Named

The Communication Studies Department congratulates Sara Weisenbeck and Erin Bong as student Recognition of Excellence award nominees from our department.  Sara and Erin will receive notification from the CLS Dean’s office that they are the Comm. Studies award winners and will be considered for the College Excellence Award to be given at the end of the semester. Drs. Linda Dickmeyer, Doug Swanson, and Scott Dickmeyer have been nominated for teaching, research, and service awards respectively. This year tenure track, non-tenured faculty are being recognized by the College.

Search and Screen Committee Update

The Department’s Search and Screen Committee is working to fill our vacant faculty position. We hope to be bringing candidates to campus for interviews soon. All CST students will be invited to participate in that process. Present plans are for each candidate to make two presentations (at least one in a class setting). One presentation will focus on CMC/New Media/Web Design issues and one will address the Comm. Theory/Research Methods area. Other times for faculty and students to interact with the candidates will also be arranged. More details will be forthcoming as more is known.
