Steve Duck's Visit

I want to thank everyone in the CST department, Betsy Morgan and in the CLS Dean’s office for your interest, support and kudos surrounding the recent visit from Dr. Steve Duck.  This was a great opportunity for us and for our students; the entire day was a success and I was very proud of all students that had a chance to interact with him.  A special thanks to those of you who participated in the meet and greet, lunch, and various presentations.  We will put photos, a story, and other good PR stuff on our website as soon as possible.  I thought you might like to see some of what Dr. Duck had to say in an email from this morning:

 I survived the return trip and the day with the warm glows of your kind hospitality and wonderful students getting me through the stresses. I had a lovely time there and really enjoyed meeting you all. It is nice to get such a stimulating reception -- and to have so any good ideas floating around in such a short time is a real treat.

A couple of students have contacted me already and I will be responding shortly after this. Do encourage the others not to hold back if they feel the need.  I really will respond. You have some real winners there and have done an excellent job of bringing out their best.

Thanks again for the wonderful hospitality and the intellectual vigor of the visit. And thanks to Scott for his fun and enlivening comments and the salmon (I don't have his email but I hope we'll stay in touch also)
