Student Awards for Excellence
This first-ever event
was held Saturday, April 22nd, in Madison. The entries were judged by a
panel of professional broadcasters.
Communication studies
students in the telecommunication emphasis won the following awards:

Adam Strand accepting first place in two
categories: "What Is a Student to Do?" in the News/Sports Story (TV)
category and
"Walt Disney World College Program" in Promotional/Public Service
Announcements (TV) category.

The department's advanced video class placed third with "Five Minute Update" in the Newscast (TV) category. The newscast aired on local TV station KQEG/UPN 23 on February 21st and 22nd.
