About Us
WMCM-TV is an adjunct of the academic program of the Communication Studies Department in the Broadcast and Digital Communications Emphasis at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The student-run television station operates (1) to provide students with instruction and practical experience in television production, and (2) to provide television programming for the campus and community through cable distribution. WMCM-TV provides television programs to the campus (via a closed circuit cable system channel 6) and to the community (via Charter Communications cable system channel 96 and digital channel 989).
The two courses, CST 275 Applied TV and CST 374 TV Workshop, are designed to give students experience in remote video production, videotape editing, and studio production.
Students involved with WMCM experience television production in a variety of formats, including but not limited to:
* News programs
* Weekly sports programs
* Weekly productions on topics covering campus and community interests and concerns
* Weekly movie review program
WMCM's Mission
