Gerontology Certificate Program - 60 hours program

The Gerontology Certificate Program consists of 60 hours of core workshops covering a broad range of knowledge related to aging. This program can be completed in 18 months. Topics to be covered include:

  • Essentials of Gerontology
  • Social Issues of Aging
  • Psychology of Aging
  • Drugs and Aging
  • Physiology of Aging

Advanced Gerontology Certificate Program - 120 hours program

The Advanced Gerontology Certificate Program is designed to give participants a depth of knowledge through core workshops and allows for individual focus through elective workshops and work practicum. This certificate can be completed in two years. The Advanced Gerontology Certificate has three components:

  • 48 hours of required core workshops
  • 52 hours of elective workshops
  • 12-20 hours of work practicum

The Gerontology Certificate Programs are designed to meet the needs of working adults. Workshops will be offered in the evening and afternoon in varying lengths of time. All workshops carry Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and are not graded. Workshops are open to all.
