Sport Administration Option
Program Curriculum

The Graduate Sport Administration program is a 36-credit curriculum that enables students to select either the thesis or non-thesis option. Both options are comprised of Required Research Courses and Required Core Courses. The non-thesis option also requires six credits of additional Elective Courses.

The curriculum is approved by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) and the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM).

Thesis Option
The thesis option encompasses six credits of Research Courses and the successful completion of a master’s thesis, under the direction of a graduate faculty chair and a thesis committee. Students interested in completing a thesis are encouraged to discuss their interest with the Program Director.

Non-Thesis Option
The non-thesis option encompasses six credits of Research Courses and a written comprehensive exam. Students selecting the non-thesis option must complete an additional six credits of elective courses as part of the program curriculum.
