Drugs and Aging

Medication management and promoting safe drug use are central to providing quality care for elders. The number of medications taken, the introduction of new drugs and information, and the potential for drug misuse pose challenges for even the most experienced care provider. “Drugs and Aging” presents up-to-date, comprehensive, and practical information to assist professional and family caregivers alike. Common drug classes, drug interaction and reactions, and ineffective outcomes are presented. The social factors, such as government programs, and the relationships between patient, physician and drug companies are considered. Case studies and the promotion of safe use of medication are emphasized throughout.
