Case studies, analysis, and re-scripting practice will increase participants’ intercultural competencies and heighten awareness of self and other. The workshop features UW-L’s “Action through Performance” theater group and a World Café model of discussion.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the mental models and assumptions that affect our behaviors
- Explore what hinders the development of respectful partnerships across differences
- Build skills for positive interactions using analysis and re-scripting
- Identify existing and emerging diversity assets within La Crosse County

Founded in 2005, UW-La Crosse’s ATP Troupe is comprised of students who share a passion for diversity and social justice and use theater to build understanding and inclusiveness. The players come together to dialogue, research, write and create performances that inform, inspire and encourage others to take action to affirm the dignity and worth of all people.
What is the World Café?
A World Café is a method for creating a living network of dialogue around questions that matter in real workplaces. These dialogues enable us to see new ways to make a difference in our work. It is built on the premise that people have the wisdom and creativity to confront even the most difficult challenges. www.theworldcafe.com
