Jordan Bass, Ph.D.,
is an assistant professor at the
University of Kansas in the
Health, Sport and Exercise
Sciences Department. He attended
the University of the Ozarks in
Clarksville, Arkansas where he
obtained a BA in Communications.
During that time, Jordan was
also a NCAA Division III tennis
player. He received a Masters of
Education degree in Sport
Management from Wichita State
University in 2009. In the
spring of 2013, he was awarded a
PhD in Sport Management from The

Brian Gordon
is the Program Director
of the online Sport
Administration Master’s Program
at the University of
Wisconsin–La Crosse. Originally
from central Illinois, he
attended Eastern Illinois
University and earned a B.A. in
History with a Pre-law minor in
2003. Brian attended Southern
Illinois University and earned a
M.S. in Sport Management in
2006. In 2010, he was awarded a
Ph.D. in Sport Management from
The Florida State University in
2010. Brian and his wife
Kristina currently reside in

Chris Helixon is
a lecturer in the Exercise and
Sport Science Department and
Head Women’s Softball Coach at
the University of Wisconsin-La
Crosse. He earned a B.S. in
Leadership from the United
States Military Academy at West
Point and an M.S. in Sport
Administration from UW-La
Crosse. Chris’ chief
area of interest is facility

Teri Hepler
is an Assistant Professor in the
Exercise and Sport Science
Department at the University of
Wisconsin-La Crosse. She earned
a BA in Psychobiology from Ripon
College and MS in Sport Studies
from Miami University. She was
awarded a Ph.D. in
Kinesiology/Sport Psychology
From Michigan State University.
Dr. Hepler’s areas of interest
include: psychosocial aspects of
sport and exercise,
decision-making, efficacy
beliefs, group processes, motor
behavior and athletic

Chia-Chen Yu
is a Professor in the Exercise
and Sport Science Department at
UW-La Crosse and is the Director
of the undergraduate program in
Sport Management. She earned her
PhD in Sport Administration from
the University of Northern
Colorado. Dr. Yu teaches
graduate and undergraduate
courses in sport marketing,
sport law, and sport finance as
well as supervising internships
for undergraduate sport
management students. Dr. Yu's
research interest is related to
sport marketing and technology

Annette Valeo
manages the Online Sport
Administration graduate program
for the Office of Continuing
Education and Extension (CEE).
She has a Master’s of Arts
Degree in Teaching and has been
with CEE as an outreach program
specialist since 2004. Since
that time, Annette has worked
with the Department of Exercise
and Sport Science on their
off-campus master’s degree
