This 1-day Introduction to Encaustic Painting offers participants a basic introduction to the encaustic medium and method. Artists with backgrounds in almost any medium will find this workshop an engaging experience, and will identify ways in which encaustic can inform their own artistic vision.

Following an initial demonstration, participants will have an opportunity to create their own work in the medium.

Participants should bring their own lunch.

NOTE: Sponsored by the School District of La Crosse, a culminating exhibition for encaustic workshop participants will be held at the Lincoln Middle School Art Gallery November 4-25. Those interested should plan to deliver art work to Lincoln Middle School, 510 9th St. South, La Crosse no later than Friday, October 25. Installation will occur on Friday, November 1. A reception will be held on the last day of the exhibition, Monday, November 25. Art work may be removed from the Gallery at the conclusion of the reception.
