Special Education Program

Academic Advising

All teacher education candidates are assigned a faculty advisor within the Special Education Program. All candidates are encouraged to check their WINGS Student Center for advisor information and develop a relationship with their advisor as soon as possible. Advisors are assigned for the duration a candidate remains in the Teacher Education Program.

Undergraduate SPE Academic Advising

Undergraduate candidates are encouraged to review their Academic Advising Report in WINGS and the long range planner made with your advisor. If you do not have a long range planner, make an appointment with your advisor right away. Candidates must meet with their academic advisor every semester prior to registration. Academic advisors are found in the Student Center on WINGS. See the DES Faculty Directory for faculty contact information.

Graduate SPE Academic Advising

Admissions to the Special Education Graduate Program are currently on hold.

Graduate candidates are encouraged to review their long range planner and meet with the SPE Program Director. The program director maintains each candidate’s academic file and oversees their progress in the portfolio process. Graduate candidates must met with their academic advisor every semester prior to registration.
