Available Audio and Video Conference Services at UW-La Crosse

WisLine – an audio only bridging/conferencing service that allows audio conferences via the standard telephone. This service allows three to 156 participants to dial in from any location that has a telephone. The cost is ten cents per minute per line plus the long distance call to Madison. WisLineWeb – combines the use of a web browser to share visuals (documents, PowerPoint presentations etc.) in real time, with the audio conferencing capabilities of WisLine. WisLineWeb sessions for one or two people can be held anywhere there is access to both a telephone line and a data connection. Group meetings can be arranged in rooms 102 and 104 Wing or in 345 Morris Hall. ISDN – allows real time two-way audio and video interaction and uses switched digital telephone lines to connect to any site within the state or world with similar technology. ISDN videoconferencing units are very common in both businesses and educational institutions. These conferences can take place in 102 and 104 Wing or in 345 Morris Hall. Facilities are also available in the HSC. (Line charges apply - $22/hour in state plus bridging charges if more than two sites participate)

IP (H.323) Videoconferencing – is real time audio and video conferencing over the Internet. A connection can be established in rooms 102 and 104 Wing or in 345 Morris Hall. We also have two smaller conferencing facilities perfect for meetings.  Bridging (MCU) facilities are available supporting up to 24 connection.  IP video equipment is available at distant sites such as UW-EC, UW-SP and the Pyle Center in Madison. This can be an affordable alternative to other technologies as there are no line charges. Contact the DE Technology Manager at 785-8049 for scheduling assistance.
