Video Podcasting Made Simple

Bob Hoar and Becky LeDocq

Wing Room 104
Five, 30 minute sessions beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Description

This session will showcase some of the many uses of video podcasting. The podcasts can be used to train, teach or simply communicate. The various strategies for using the podcasts in your class (online or traditional) will be discussed and many examples will be shared. The step-by-step process of creating a new podcast and placing it on a course website will be demonstrated. The software needed is cheap (free, in some cases).

Highlights

The "TutorCast" project will be showcased. TutorCast is a new initiative involving tutors in the Math Learning Center (MLC) in the production of a large number of video podcasts. The tutors create video podcasts describing the solutions to various problems identified as trouble areas for students. These podcasts are then made available on a website to be used by anyone, anytime, anywhere! The processes that have been developed in this project may be adapted to other projects.
