River Studies Center

The River Studies Center (RSC) is a semi-autonomous, non-curricular unit of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse that was established in 1972 to focus attention on research and informational programs related to the Upper Mississippi River and its resources. Since its establishment, the center has expanded its activities to include the study of other aquatic resources in Wisconsin and the surrounding area, including the northern lakes. The activities of the RSC are closely coordinated with the Departments of Biology and Microbiology, and it maintains close ties to a number of local, state and federal agencies that provide valuable opportunities for employment, internships and research training for graduate and undergraduate students in aquatic sciences.
