David Morris: is the
Vice President of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance. This
organization is dedicated to developing and implementing environmentally
sound economic development strategies. Their Waste to Wealth Program
helps communities convert wastes from environmental and economic
liabilities to valuable resources that
Chad Kister: will present
on the horrific impacts of climate change on the Arctic and Alaska, and
what we can do to reduce.
Mary Rehwald: is a
public speaker who is serving her fourth term on the Ashland City
Council in northern Wisconsin where she led the successful effort to
have the city become the second eco-municipality in the U.S. She
organized a delegation to Sweden to study The Natural Step and
sustainability programs in Sweden’s eco-municipalities. Co-founder of
the Alliance for Sustainability, a local organization in the Chequamegon
Bay on Lake Superior, she has worked to bring speakers, an international
conference, and Study Circles to her region. A lifelong educator at the
college and high school level, she received the 2006 Lake Superior
Binational Program Environmental Stewardship Award for outstanding
contributions to protect and restore the Lake Superior Basin. She holds
an M.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
