Building Maintenance

The Plant Engineer and Craftsworker Supervisor are responsible for engineering and building trades services involved in maintaining the integrity of the campus' buildings, architectural theme, and utility equipment and systems. Their responsibilities include the developing and monitoring of preventive maintenance programs, preparing plans and cost estimates for selected campus minor maintenance or remodeling/construction projects, reviewing and evaluating proposed construction projects, providing technical expertise, and monitoring certain maintenance or remodeling/construction projects.

Personnel assigned to the Mechanical Maintenance department perform the needed preventive and corrective maintenance on all campus building, environmental and utility systems, in addition to being responsible for their efficient operation. They are responsible for maintaining the maintenance and passenger fleet vehicles.

Building Crafts department personnel are responsible for all aspects of maintenance to the buildings and walkways. This department along with the Mechanical Maintenance department provides most of the construction expertise for many minor campus maintenance or remodeling/construction projects.
