Text materials: The textbook, Elementary Statistics, is posted on D2L.
Bring to class each day: (1) A calculator (2) Relevant tables
Regarding (1), the calculator need not be a graphics calculator. A basic
scientific calculator is sufficient.
Regarding (2), we will cover the Z, T, F, and Chi-squared distributions.
Tables of each of these distributions should be brought to class from the
time we first discuss the distribution until the end of the semester.
The tables are posted on the course website and on D2L and can easily be
printed. We will also use a random number table. The specific random
number table we will use is posted on D2L and on the course website along
with the other tables. This table should be brought to class every day
starting in the first week.
The course will include an introduction to SPSS, and will include
opportunities to use that software in writing up homework assignments.
Grades will be based on exams, in-class exercises, and homework.
There will be a total of 500 possible points. A student's grade will
be determined by what percentage of those points he or she earns.
Point values and exam dates are as follows.
Hour Exams: Thursday, Feb. 06 75 points
