Course Information for MTH 208, Calculus II, Section 01, Fall

    Textbook:  Calculus, edition 7e (early transcendentals), by Stewart

    Bring the textbook to class each day.
  
    Calculators will not be permitted on exams, and all exams will be
    closed-book and closed-notes.  

    The course will include work with Mathematica and LaTeX.  No prior 
    knowledge of those software packages is required.

 Grades will be based on exams, in-class exercises, and  homework.  
 There will be a total of 500 possible points.  A student's grade will 
 be determined by what precentage of those points he or she earns.  
 Point values (and the exam sechedule) are as follows.  

         
    Hour Exams:    Thursday, Sep. 20                  75 points
                   Thursday, Oct. 18                  75 points
                   Tuesday, Nov. 20                   75 points
    Final Exam:    Saturday, Dec. 15, 7:45-9:45 am   150 points
    Other items:                                     125 points

  A  91% - 100%                          AB  at least 86% but less than 91%
  B  at least 81% but less than 86%      BC  at least 76% but less than 81%
  C  at least 70% but less than 76%       D  at least 60% but less than 70%
  F  below 60%
