Dr. Harun Rashid
Dr.
Rashid joined our department in 2004 and served as Chair until
2007 following nearly 30 years of classroom and administrative
experience at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Before arriving on our campus, Dr. Rashid was Acting Associate
Vice-President of Research at Lakehead University from April
2002 until August 2004. He was also Chair of the Department of
Geography at Lakehead for two terms.
Dr. Rashid's teaching interests include physical geography, geomorphology, natural hazards, and water resources. His research interests are in applied fluvial geomorphology, and water resources management, with the latest focus on sustainable floodplain management. Dr. Rashid has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, with nearly sixty refereed and and non-refereed published items.
Dr. Rashid retired in May of 2009. More on his career and many achievements can be found here.
