Dr. Rafique Ahmed
Dr.
Ahmed has been a member of the Geography & Earth Science faculty
at UW-L since 1984. His excitement for Geography is as strong
today as when he first started teaching. Originally from
Bangladesh, Dr. Ahmed has maintained a very strong research
interest in the formation of the monsoons of that country and
how they effect the land and people of the area. He has received
several research grants for this endeavor from sources including
the United Nations Development Program. His interest in climate
is not just restricted to Bangladesh, he also enjoys teaching
his students about the micro-climate and weather patterns here
in the local area as well as on regional and global scales.
When he isn't in the classroom or conducting his research, Dr.
Ahmed enjoys both gardening and cooking.
