Objectives

Photograph of an amarillis flowerThe three Main objectives of the TULIP Project, identified below, are to help improve botanical education by providing information and ideas to pre-service teachers, in-service teachers, and those generally interested in botany.

(2) Promoting K-12 BOTANICAL EDUCATION by providing plant information and suggested activities to K-12 in-service and pre-service teachers. – Key Links: National Science Education Stds, Benchmarks, Project 2061, 50 States, Wisconsin Model Academic Science Stds, AAAS 1998, Glenn Commission, and NRC. 1997.

(3) Emphasizing that the study of plants is not exclusively for the science classroom.
