Course Objectives
The formal purpose of ECO336 is to encounter the role of women in the United States from the viewpoint of economics within a multicultural context. The course focuses on the economic trends, theories, and political responses to three major aspects of women’s role in the United States economy: the labor market, the household, and poverty. There are references to women in an international context (mainly for comparative purposes) but the course focuses on the domestic economy.
