Two to three hours of work per week for one semester are required for one TSL 450/550 credit.  The pronunciation lab, the writing emphasis lab, and the conversation partnership positions are one-credit internships.  The testing skills position is a two-credit internship because more extensive preparation time is required; however, this position is also open to students who want only one credit.  Credits for other internship positions vary.

Do you need to earn credits for TSL 450/550 in the spring 2008 semester?  If so, how many?


If you have already earned TSL 450/550 credits, there is a possibility of payment for hours you work at the ESL Institute.  There is also work available on a regular basis for volunteers who require no credits and no payment.  Please let us know if you are interested in either of these options.




We are eager to have TESOL students work with the UW-L ESL Institute students.  However, you may use other experiences with English language learners (ELLs) to fulfill the TESOL internship requirement.  If you have a proposal for working with ELLs who are not at the ESL Institute, please comment below:
