Identify Latest & Greatest Websites and or Application Developments

Congratulations, you have proven to me that you have listened to the online lecture.  Your reward, besides the knowledge gained from our lecture discussion is that you have received the opportunity to complete the following activity.  If you complete the activity,  you will be rewarded with a bonus of up to 3% added to your Exam #2 grade.  For example: if you received an Exam #2 score of 88% you will now have a score of 91%.

Activity

You have been hired by a local small business located in downtown La Crosse, WI who is interested in taking advantage of the opportunities available through today’s information technology developments.  Your client is not very familiar and experienced with technology, but they are willing and eager to learn.  They do understand and are currently using Facebook, but are seeking out other new technological developments to grow their business.

As a consultant your client has requested the following:

You are to introduce and explain a total of two new latest and greatest websites or smart phone/tablet applications that the small business can use to enhance marketing, operations, finances, management, etc.  Basically any website or application that could be used by the small business to improve their overall business is appropriate.

Your deliverable must include the following:

  • Names of the applications or websites(s)

  • Short description of the application(s) or website(s)

  • Explain why you would recommend the application(s) or website(s).  Be sure to include costs, advantages, how to implement/use, and anything else that would support your recommendation.

  • You must clearly explain what the benefits are for utilizing your selected website(s) or application(s). 

  • Your analysis and recommendation should not exceed 2 pages.

  • Please email your analysis as a Microsoft Word Document to pharied@uwlax.edu by Midnight on Monday April 16th.  No Late assignments will be accepted.
