Up-to-date? The Up-to-Date indicator arrow, e.g.

<--- 05/15/05 4:35pm ---

shows which homework problems you should have completed before the next class period. The arrow will include the date that I set the indicator, so you'll know if it is accurate.

Notation: For your convenience, I have grouped together problems from the same "block" in the text [in brackets like this]. Also, some problems are underlined together (e.g. "12, 13, 16"). This is to indicate that you should pause to reflect on the similarities / differences between the problems after you have completed them. They are no more or less important than other problems, however, just a good opportunity to learn something important!

Grading: You will recieve at least 7/10 for each assignment you complete. The remaining 3/10 points will depend on the few problems I randomly choose to grade from each assignment. One of those three will almost always be one of the "Writing" problems I have indicated in the homework list below. I generally recommend that you work those problems first, and keep them in mind as you work through the "Drill" exercises as well.
