My teaching style is based on the adult learning theory termed Andragogy. Malcolm Knowles proposed this learning theory as he believed that the needs of adult learners were different than those of children. In teaching adult learners, I also believe in the student-centered style instruction and learning environment. I am a facilitator and a guide for the learning. The students are in control of their learning and utilize their own experiences and knowledge base to apply new concepts and materials. This concept focuses on the importance of the learners over the instructor. I also use various instructional techniques and tools which allows for students of all learning styles to understand the material. Such things as audio lecture, or visual podcasts are examples of offering a different means of instruction.
