QUIZZES:
A 10-minute quiz will be given at the end of class on each Monday. The purpose of the quizzes is to encourage you to keep up with the homework, since the questions will be similar. If you complete the homework, the quizzes should be fairly reasonable. On the other hand, if you don't do the homework seriously, it will be very difficult to finish the quizzes in the allotted time.
NO MAKE-UP QUIZ WILL BE GIVEN FOR ANY REASON -- To accommodate occasional illnesses and absences, the two lowest quiz scores will be dropped. Each quiz is worth 10 points. The average quiz score (after dropping the lowest two) multiplied by 10 will be your quiz points (out of 100 pts).

EXAMS:
There will be four in-class exams and a comprehensive final exam. The schedule given below is tentative and subject to change (except the final exam).
NO MAKE-UP EXAM WILL BE GIVEN -- If you have a very good reason for missing an exam, you must talk to me *before* the test (by 9:30am on the day of the exam) for an arrangement.
Each exam, including the final exam, is worth 100 points. Counting the final exam score twice, the sum of the best 5 exam scores out of the 6 will be your exam points (out of 500 pts).

EXAM 2Mon., 10/26 EXAM 4Mon., 12/14
