Teaching Responsibilities
 &
Course Syllabi

Until the Spring 2005 semester, my regular assignment included a quarter-time position to coordinate the Writing Emphasis and Writing-in-the-Major programs.  With that assignment, I usually taught

§   two sections of English 110 (the freshman writing course)

§   one section of English 313 (Prose Style & Editing—a course required both in the Professional Writing minor and in the Rhetoric & Writing tract of the English major)

§   one section (with April Handtke, Housing) of UWL 100 (the 1-credit freshman seminar, taught only in the Fall semester).

I would often also teach English 413, Writing Portfolio, which, until the Fall 2005 semester, was a one-credit course required of Professional Writing minors.  With the beginning of the Rhetoric & Writing major, it is required as a three-credit course for majors.

In the Fall 2005 semester, I taught

§   2 sections of Eng 110,

§   1 section of 313,

§   1 section of UWL 100,

§   1 section of Eng 413 (1 credit),

§   1 section of Eng 413 (3 credits), and

§   supervised Eng 450 (a 3-credit internship).  (I usually supervise two or three internships every year.)

The freshman writing course usually has 24 students per section; Eng 313 typically has about 20 students; UWL 100, about 22; Eng 413, between 12 and 16 (in Fall 2005, I had 12 students in the 1-credit section, 4 in the 3-credit section).

In the Spring 2007 semester, I am teaching

§   1 section of Eng 110,

§   1 section of Eng 200,

§   1 section of Eng 413 (1 credit),

§   1 section of Eng 413 (3 credits), and

§    supervising 2 Eng 450

and I am directing the Writing Center.
